Madison Square Winter Capsual
It's all about the knits.... and this season Madison Square have such an amazing range of knitted jumpers, vests and coats - I want one of each in my wardrobe!
I've been hanging out for these gorgeous styles to land on our doorstep for months and it's super exciting to have half of the styles in store now, with the other
half on their way at the end of the week!
The 'Frankie Side Scoop Knit' is one of my absolute faves - a super soft, blended knit with a round neckline and scooped sides, it is such an easy piece to style
and will see many a Winter in your wardrobe! For the mums, this is a must to team with jeans and street sneakers for the school runs!
You may recognise the 'Maya Knitted Coat' from my giveaway earlier this month?! We have two lucky people lined up to receive this gorgeous coat when it
arrives early next week (first week in may). I've got these babies up on pre-order now so snap yours up (with free express postage) to avoid disappointment!
I am also loving the 'Nina Overlay Knit Vest' in gorgeous Khaki (my all time fave colour to wear)! Super versatile, this vest will pair back with many colours
and can be dressed up with a skirt or worn casually. Another great one for school runs and running errands.
Don't forget, we now have a collaborative bricks and mortar store, Lalt Collective in the gorgeous Clare Valley, where you can come in and try on all of our
online styles and more!
Til' next time,
Sheri xx
You had me at Champagne!
Did someone say bubbles, sparkling, fizz?? We certainly did and this Sunday we’re off to pamper ourselves for a cause.
You see, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Australia. We’ve all been affected in one way or another whether it be personally or a loved one - and what better way to raise funds, than to get together with the ladies for a day of Pampering!
Now… first I ask you? Do you have plans for Sunday (yep, I know I have given you all terribly late notice – this Sunday 18th October 2015)? No… Good!
Do you feel like being pampered, having some bubbles, enjoying great company AND a spot of shopping? Yes… Good!
We (me, Sheri) will be set up there with a gorgeous range of trans-seasonal styles for this odd Adelaide weather we’re experiencing along with many more amazing businesses.
Here are the deets:

Where: Campbelltown Function Centre (172 Montacute Road, Campbelltown)

2015 - Bring It!
Nearly a year on from my first official blog post with Labels and Love, I find myself drawn back to the lappy to tell you a bit more about moi and the whirlwind of changes that was 2014.
The reason I am drawn to write this today stems from the rare opportunity to wake up this morning with a clear mind… oh and have a HOT coffee! For those who don’t know me, I have two year old daughter who will happily tell you how busy she is (and she really is). She is having a mini holiday with my beautiful mother – thus giving me the opportunity to wake up, smell the roses, think clearly and have HOT coffee (thanks Mum!).
2014 was such an awesome year. I put together (and stumbled through) our first fashion parade, met so many of you at markets and other events, introduced you all to the fabulous Adelaide label - Three Parsons, was lucky enough to win a styling package with Nat from Defined Image, relaunched our new look website, met some wonderful women to network with through Business Goddess – Soli and had a wine date to get to know and gather some blogging tips from the stunning Sonia from Sonia Styling. All of which I look forward to telling you about in more detail as time goes on. My biggest achievement of all though, was having the guts to give up my permanent job and spend more time with my daughter, husband and focussing on my dream – Labels and Love! Funnily enough, life seems more chaotic since I made this decision but I still wouldn’t change a thing.
In 2015, I have set my goals high! I’m talking loads of markets, a couple of pop up shops, a styling hub and loads of information to help you find your own individual style. I also want to bring you more ‘real’ content – stuff that you can all relate to including more of my own outfit posts (to prove that you don’t need the perfect bod to look fab) and hints and tips to make you look and feel confident.
What hints and tips do you enjoy reading about and what do you feel you can and can’t wear? I’d love to know!

To Market, to Market and More!
Sales, markets and label hunting are just a few things that have been going on at Labels and Love! All whilst only just keeping up an appearance in my roles of mum, part-time employee, wife and housemaid (I seriously need to get me one of them!!). But, with a combination of Coffee, some good multi V’s, exercise, wine and a very patient husband, I get through and LOVE every single day of this crazy life.
So let me expand a little on the deets! We’ve become regulars on the market scene, popping up everywhere from Adelaide to Angaston. We have had a great time meeting new customers and seeing our regulars. The experience of getting out and bringing our gorgeous pieces to you is something unique and a bit spesh. So we will definitely be doing a lot more of it as 2014 carries on. Now I say we, and you may wonder who I am referring to? I’ve scored myself an amazing wingman who now comes everywhere with me and luckily for you guys, she loves being out and about as much as me! She’s easy on the eye, knows her fashion and loves styling our customers.
Meet the lovely Debbie!
You can find Debbie and I popping up with Labels and Love next at Pop Up on the Plains. This beauty of a market is based in an empty shop in Balaklava. They fill the shop with a huge variety of retailers for the day and bring it to life. The atmosphere is brilliant and it’s certainly a one of a kind market that you won’t want to miss. This month, Pop Up on the Plains will run over two dates - Friday August 1stin the evening and Saturday August 2nd during the day. We will also be at the Angaston Market on August 10th and Market Day at Mawson Lakes on September 13th. I’ll be posting more details on our Facebook page leading up to all events so be sure to check it out.
Now, I am itching to tell you all of the details but I have to keep some secrets or I will spoil the fun! July is going to be a huge month at Labels and Love as we introduce some fresh new Australian labels. Our first new pieces will be by Premonition. Premonition are a Sydney based label whose designs are inspired by nature, technology, art, music and culture. The outcome – a vibrant, feminine and sexy style which you can mix and match through all seasons. From July onwards, there will be a few exclusive pieces released each month. Sizes available will be ranging from 8 – 12 to start with but, this doesn’t mean you miss out if you are a size 14! Please let us know if you love what you see and we will start ordering size 14 as well.
(Images shown are items of the current range and available via the Premonition website)
We have one more exciting label in the wings but you’ll have to wait for that one!
Easy Peasy On Trend
Most of us are now up to date with what’s trending this Autumn/Winter but the big question is how do I wear it? Some of the trends I am loving and will be incorporating into my wardrobe are:
Monochrome & Grey
Monochrome looks best in stripes, solids or prints (I am not a huge polka dot fan). The layered look is my favourite, especially for this time of year when the days begin with frost and then become a little warmer than intended by lunch. So layering white or grey shirts and tees with a bit of length under jumpers and cardis, then pairing with distressed jeans or leatherette pants and heels makes for a fast, simple and glam look.
Oversized knits
Now come on, who doesn’t love snuggling into a nice warm knit? The fact that oversize is in – perfect! I will be hibernating in mine all winter. I’m going to mention layering again because you got it – it’s in and I love it. Oversized knits make this super easy to do whether it’s five degrees or 25 degrees this winter as you can fit as little or as many layers as you like under them.
Leopard print
You either love or hate leopard print and I have to say, this season I have been won over. With so many individual pieces out there, it makes it really easy to incorporate a little leopard into your look. I love to pair my leopard back with basics such as a tank or jeans, to add some flair to my everyday outfits.
Bright, floral and digital style prints
There is a lot of monochrome and grey around at the moment but don’t let that deter you from that bright print that grabbed your eye as soon as you walked in the shop or opened that webpage. Prints are still huge and will be hanging around so it’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on lightweight printed items that will see you through the spring/summer seasons too. Printed pants have definitely become a favourite of mine along with bright lightweight tops – again, perfect for layering. Another favourite and borderline addiction of mine at the moment is the printed shift dress, especially if I can find one with leatherette panels or patches.
Leatherette
Some say this is just a cheap take on leather but ideally if you find a well-made piece, you can nail the look just as well at a fraction of the cost. We saw this trend last year and it’s back again this season featuring in panels, patches and full pieces. A pair of leatherette leggings or pants will become your staple along with jeans this season and they look fabulous when you layer up your top half or wear with a shirt style dress. As for panels and patches, I love the use of it in shoulder patches and panels in dresses. It adds a bit of masculinity to what would be a very feminine piece – sometimes, just the balance you need.
Label Love - Introducing Supa Sundays
I absolutely LOVE when I come across a new Australian label, especially when it’s amazing, retro inspired sunglasses!
I don’t know about you, but I am forever getting bored of the same old look. Whether it be clothing, hair, shoes or eyewear, I love pieces which express my style. I mean I have my staple pieces that see me through day in and day out however, I love a statement item which ultimately, shows the world the personality which lies within.
So when I stumbled upon Supa Sundays, I had to jump at the opportunity to stock them and share this amazing eyewear range with you. They are brilliant quality (I’d say that of the more expensive labels you can buy), UV400 and provide 100% UV protection. Their designs are unique, yet completely timeless.
Supa Sundays Eyewear will be available online at Labels and Love for only $39.00 from Wednesday 12th March 2014.
Got the Blues
I am not normally a huge fan of denim vests, but after this find, I am in love.
Madison Square is one of our regular labels here at Labels and Love and they have totally nailed it with their Baby Blues Denim Vest!
This vest is the perfect cropped length and has a distressed look about it, giving the piece a real boho feel. It is what I define as one of those classic pieces that you will wear over and over, particularly good as we transition from Summer into Autumn. It’s a piece you can just throw on and it will add diversity to so many items already living in your wardrobe. For me, I know that this little baby is going to become a wardrobe staple and will see me through many seasons of wear.
So – what will I be wearing the Baby Blues Denim Vest with? Personally, I am loving florals and stripes and can see the vest thrown over a summer floral maxi, teamed with a basic tank and skinny leg pants or a striped tee or skirt. It’s a free spirited piece that adds that final flair to your outfit!
The Baby Blues Denim Vest is available online now at www.labelsandlove.com.au and is only $55.00. Sizes 8-12.
The Who
And so it begins my first official blog post… Told just how it is, no bullshit, just pure Sheri!
The story begins, mid last year when I hit a point in my life, where I found myself incredibly bored. Bored with my life and the direction it was heading. Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my life but it seriously felt like Groundhog Day. I was working part time and then every other day was the same. Get up, feed the baby, play with the baby, hope for a shower, drink cups of cold coffee… you get the idea! It got tiresome and dull very quick and it needed to change! I am an energetic chick who loves keeping busy and having a good challenge, so I had a serious think about what I could incorporate into my world, during my spare time. The loves of my life – well apart from the obvious, are shopping, bargain hunting and fashion. Then it dawned on me, why couldn't I do what I love all the time? And thus, I bring you www.labelsandlove.com.au
Who am I? Well, I am 29, a self confessed coffee addict, shopaholic, wine loving wife and mum. I don’t go anywhere without lip-gloss and sometimes wonder if I remain bottle blonde to cover up my speak before I think issues. I grew up in Adelaide’s southern suburbs and in my early 20’s wore heels day in and day out, had the beach and shops at my fingertips and a social life to die for. In 2010, I met my spunky ‘farm boy’ as my friends and I called him - country born and bred and a complete gentleman! I was convinced these type of men didn't exist so when he popped the question with a ring more amazing than I ever fathomed, I moved to the country to marry him – totally living a real life “Farmer wants a Wife” life! Four years on, one half renovated house, 2 businesses, a part time job, a 15 month old, 2 dogs and a cat….. life is far from boring!
This blog is to share another insight into the world that is Labels and Love. I plan to share with you a combination of my life, my love of all things pretty and posts on the amazing labels and garments that 2014 will bring to Labels and Love. I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
